🔪🐕 Ilford Station – Joint Knife and Drugs Operation
On 27 January, officers from the Metropolitan Police worked in partnership with British Transport Police (BTP) to carry out a knife and drugs dog operation at Ilford Station.
The operation aimed to reassure the public, prevent crime, and identify and arrest offenders involved in carrying weapons or drugs on the transport network. A proactive policing approach was taken, with uniformed officers and a specialist drugs detection dog deployed within the station.
As a result of the operation: Members of the public, including commuters and station staff, were able to see officers actively working to keep the station safe, which helped provide reassurance and increase confidence in policing.
We will continue to work closely with British Transport Police and partner agencies to target knife crime, drug-related offending, and anti-social behaviour, ensuring Ilford Station remains a safe place for everyone who lives, works, and travels through the area.
